Kings of Cameron Recap

This years games of the Kings of Cameron on the Hardwood were full of emotion from both teams. The Huskies and Bulldogs proved again why this is such a great rivalry between 2 schools 2 miles apart on the same street. South Hills Won 2 of the 3 games.

The Freshmen game went into overtime and was full of emotion to kick off the game. After trailing in the first half the Huskies came back to send the game into overtime. The West Covina Bulldogs made a 3 pointer at time expired to beat the Huskies. The Freshmen record now is 3-1.

The Jv game was also another exciting contest. After trailing by 10 points in the 3rd quarter the Huskies mounted a big comeback to secure the victory and improve their record to 4-0

The last game of the evening was played at a high level of emotion and skill. West Covina came out on fire scoring on their first 5 possessions. After playing sluggish defense the Huskies pressure defense started to cause problems for the Bulldogs were they went on a 8-0 run in 1st quarter to lead 21-20. In the 2nd quarter the Huskies expanded their lead and were up 42-38 at halftime. In the 3rd quarter the Huskies came out strong an dominated the quarter holding the Bulldogs to 10 points while they scored 22. The Bulldogs came out in the 4th quarter and cut the lead to 9 but the Huskies regrouped and held on to beat their rivals 83-75. Jacob Estrada had a career high 26 points, Steven Rubin-Woods 15, Jeriko Santos 13, Shane Hopkins 12.

The programs next games are Friday Dec. 7 @ Home. Frosh 3:15, Jv 4:45, Varsity 6:30.
