Green/Gold Tip off Recap

The 1st annual Green/Gold Tip was a big success. Their was quite a few parents, fans their from the program and past players came back to play the Varsity team. Our hope is that this event becomes bigger each year and a great way to tip off our season.

In the first game of the night it was our freshmen team vs our Jv team. The freshmen team jumped out early but the experience and size of the Jv team took over and they won this game. It was a learning experience for the freshmen team and the Jv team played really well together. Some key performers in the game for the freshmen team were Josiah Sotomayor and Kevin Tang. Some standouts for the Jv team were Christian Carillo, Nik Chabolla, Jake and Ryan Carmona.

In the last game of the evening was an uptempo shootout between the Alumni and Vsrsity team. Their was a lot of exciting plays a couple alley oops from the alumni and the outside shooting barrage from 3 the Varsity team. The Varsity team had a really good showing but came up short to to the Alumni 99-90. Varsity had a great effort and some big performances from Junior Jacob Estrada and seniors Steven Rubin Woods, George Casteneda, and Aaron Parham.

Fall League Recap

The Varsity team just concluded their Fall Leagues with a 7-5 record. The team is starting to take shape and guys are starting to understand their roles. We still do not have our full team together we have 3 to 4 players still playing football as they have advanced to the playoffs. With some of these players others have had to learn to step up in their absent. The biggest challenge for us is for the team to play at the speed and aggressiveness it takes for them to play the up tempo pressure system the Huskies will be playing this year. With fall league concluding official practices and tryouts begin November 5th. The teams will be selected soon and the start of the season begin November 27th.
